A Developmental Cognitive Disability is a condition resulting in intellectual functioning and deficits in behavior that adversely affects performance and requires and related services. DCD does not include conditions due to a sensory or physical impairment, brain injury, autism disorders, severe impairments, influences, or educational programming.

2. Students who qualify for special education options under the DCD category have both cognitive impairments and developmental or adaptive behavior delays.
